Earthquake in Japan

 "The quake struck at 2:46 p.m. local time at a depth of 15 miles and about 80 miles off the coast of Miyagi Prefecture, a mostly rural but still densely populated part of Honshu, Japan's largest island.
Tokyo which is also on Honshu and about 230 miles south of the epicenter - appeared to escape extensive damage, although some fires were reported and buildings shook violently for several minutes during the initial quake. At least 2 million people were without power in the capital.
Workers and residents fled from buildings and refused to return indoors, terrified by the aftershocks that continued for hours. In all, Japan felt dozens of aftershocks, some as strong as a 7.1 magnitude.
As one of the world's most earthquake-susceptible countries, Japan has invested significant resources in preparing itself. A strict building code enacted in 1981 requires structures to be built using ductile reinforced concrete, which provides flexibility that can help withstand significant tremors."

Aku masih ingat masa gempa bumi kat Acheh masa tu aku masih kat Jepun. Actually at the same time, there was a big earthquake at Japan but smaller compare with those in Acheh. I can't remember which part of Japan yang kena teruk masa tu sbb almost every month ada earthquake but the area yang affected masa tu bertukar menjadi big dam sebab ada empangan pecah. If i not mistaken la..Almost all the citizen yang tinggal dalam bandar tu terpaksa berpindah.

Now it happen again. The biggest in Japan history they say. The first time aku rasa earthquake aku cuma ingat nak mengucap je. A lot of my friends still live in Japan. Working, studying..with or without family. So far, semuanya mereka selamat. Family opismet aku pun alhamdulillah selamat. Saw the video footage of the tsunami. It was so scary. Aku pernah rasa shindo 5 pun takut gila. Kaki jadi macam jeli rasanya. The earthquake that hit Sendai, Miyagi is 8.9. Trauma..Luckily, bangunan kat Japan mostly adalah bangunan yang ada resistance pada earthquake. The damage from the earthquake itself maybe tak seteruk damage dari tsunami.

However, now the concern not only about the earthquake or the tsunami. Japan kaya dengan nuclear power plant. One of the power plant has two reactor are losing the ability to cool down. They fear the Fukushima Dai ichi nuclear power plant will explode. Death toll are rising. Lets pray for the safety of our friends in Japan.
